Lazy Friday afternoon

Got lots to finish off this afternoon, but instead I find myself taking photos of random things around the studio. Of course, it's Friday afternoon so that's kind of OK. Above is a wiggly peg man and my new Printspace print (waiting to be framed) and below is the number above my door and the (very dusty) buttons of my ancient and much-loved heater.

Thursday morning

It was so foggy this morning - very beautiful and autumnal. And I saw tiny mushrooms growing in between cobblestones.

Printing with Moo is so much fun!

Some of my illustrations on postcards, in various colours. And you'll get one if you order something via one of my shops!

Leaves Tea Towel Ready

There seems to be a posting frenzy here - lots of things ready at the same time. Now, after a preview such a long time ago, it's my latest tea towel that is ready. The original was in a hazelnut/blue combination but after a rethink, it's gone bright and quite red (with a splash of baby blue). In my Etsy shop now.

Return of the dog

A while back I made a dog cushion/pillow, screen-printed with the outline of a certain dog I know (she's not a sausage dog, she's just long and low.) The dog it was made for loved it and so I decided to make some more - now in my Etsy shop. This one's charcoal ink on sand coloured mid-weight cotton drill, with other colours coming. And maybe I'll make some that are on people's pillow case covers...I quite like the idea of dogs being everywhere.

Sew crazy

Have been sewing up a few housey things - pot holders and placemats - with my fabrics. Too much fun!

Quilting along

I haven't had much time for quilting since the initial burst of activity (isn't that how it always goes with quilts?) but got to work on it yesterday and was nearly driven mad by the binding (again, part of the process, from what I can gather). But I don't mind if it's not perfect, so I'll keep plugging away and making it up as I go along (tutorials and me are not friends due to my impatience, unfortunately!) Really need to get it finished so I have a lap rug to deal with the freezing Melbourne autumn. Brrr.

Apartment Therapy I love you

Very exciting to see that the Bright Side Project typography giveaway that I'm a part of (mentioned here by me this week) has been featured in Apartment Therapy today. It really is so very exciting - and slightly odd - to see your work featured on a site that you love so much.

And the competition to win three of my towels is open until Friday 8 May (US time), then I get to pick a winner - cool :) And so many other great things on offer - all free - so go crazy!

It might as well be winter

So I'm crocheting...

..knitting another scarf...

..growing some winter herbs...

..and looking at triangle patterns at train stations. So far I like the winterishness of this year.

Etsy find - Simpli Jessi

How cute are these guys? I'm in love - thanks Etsy for having such amazing stuff and thanks Simpli Jessi, for making such great little people!

A giveaway (of sorts)

I've not been organised enough to get around to a giveaway on this blog (yet) but here's the next best thing...

The Bright Side Project is a sweet little idea to brighten up your day and basically, they do this by giving away lovely things. New things every day, no less. Sounds pretty good. All you need to do is answer a question and you're in the running. And one of the things they're giving away at the moment is a pack of three of my tea towels - leave your answer by 8 May (US time) and you may win! And while you're there, look at all the lovely other things you could win, like this beautiful print from Lovely Sweet William or this lovely audio system from Vers. Swoon.
